Grand Haven is a beautiful town nestled on the Grand River, which empties into the spacious Lake Michigan. During your visit, make sure you meander the boardwalk, enjoy various boating activities, relax on our pristine beach and watch one of our spectacular sunsets. We offer a quaint farmers market (Wednesday a & Saturday) where you can meet some of our local growers as well as a downtown area filled with a variety of shops, restaurants and breweries. The allure of our small town offers a place to unwind and rejuvenate.
HISTORY REFRESHED
This locally registered historic landmark was built in 1902 by H.J. Dornbos, a prominent local Grand Haven resident. The home is from the post Victorian Era, and is a fine example of the American Four-Square style. Our Inn displays leaded glass windows, original oak woodwork and hardwood floors from the turn of the last century. The Inn has been thoughtfully renovated. We have maintained the original architectural elements and updated the furniture and décor. Our home offers a balanced mix of comfortable furnishings and beautiful antiques that pay homage to the home’s beginnings.

Breakfast is a special time at the Inn and we hope you come ready to eat. Start your day with a homemade breakfast. We offer a limited-choice menu allowing you to choose what you want, served on beautiful china, silverware and linen napkins. Our breakfast is made from scratch and includes farm fresh eggs, home-prepared pastries, locally baked breads, and homegrown herbs. Our comfortable dining room is stocked with coffee, a wonderful assortment of teas, and filtered water. We also offer several snacks that are available throughout your stay.
THE INNKEEPERS
We bought our first home in 1987 and converted it into, what is now, the Washington Street Inn Bed and Breakfast. Our dream to have a B&B started when we were guests at the Blue Quail Inn in Santa Barbara, CA. This was our first B&B experience back in 1984. During the last 37 years, we continued to work in health related professions, raised four children and have been active in our local community. When you stay with us you will enjoy a quiet getaway, time to relax and rejuvenate as well as an opportunity to enjoy the area surrounding our beautiful lakeshore here in Grand Haven. We are blessed to have welcomed thousands of guests into our home and look forward to hosting you too!
